How It Works · Your Content

Fred answers like you, because it learned from you.

ChatGPT does not know your business. Fred does, because Fred is trained on your website, your documents, and your wording. Every page you ever published finally goes to work.

What that means for your visitors.

Most chatbots answer from generic training data or a vendor’s help docs. The visitor gets a vague answer, the page they needed never comes up, and the lead walks. Fred flips that: your content is the source of truth, and the conversation is how visitors finally find it.

Answers that sound like you

  • Your services, your prices, your policies, in your wording
  • Not a generic paragraph scraped from the open internet
  • The expertise you already published, working every shift

The right page, surfaced

  • Fred shows the relevant page, post, or product inside the widget
  • Product cards with add-to-cart, right in the conversation
  • Visitors stop hunting through menus; Fred is the navigation

No made-up answers

  • Fred answers from your indexed content, not general knowledge
  • When the answer is not in your content, Fred says so and hands off
  • The question still becomes a lead for your team

Feed Fred what it needs to know.

Three ways in, no developer required. Point, index, done.

Your website

  • Pages, posts, and products indexed automatically
  • WooCommerce catalogs included

Your documents

  • Upload PDF, Word, and Markdown files
  • Price sheets, service guides, FAQs, policies

Other sites you choose

  • Index content from external URLs
  • Manufacturer specs, partner pages, supplier docs

Your website already knows the answers. Now it can say them.

Talk to Fred.

From answering questions to closing the sale.

Because Fred knows your catalog, the conversation does not stop at “here is a link.” Fred surfaces the product card, the booking page, or the service description inside the widget, with add-to-cart for WooCommerce stores. The visitor asks, sees, and acts without ever leaving the conversation. That is also what makes Fred’s lead scoring smarter: it scores what was surfaced and what the visitor did with it, not which URL they landed on. Curious what that looks like by the time it reaches your CRM? Take a look.

For the person who asks how.

How does Fred decide what to answer from?

Your content is indexed into a knowledge base. When a visitor asks something, Fred retrieves the most relevant pieces of your content first and answers from those, the technique evaluators call retrieval augmented generation, or RAG. The model is not free-styling from its training data; it is grounded in what you gave it.

What happens when the answer is not in my content?

Fred is designed to say so rather than guess, and to capture the question and route it to your team. A question Fred cannot answer is still a lead with intent, which beats a confident wrong answer every time.

Where does my content live?

In the WordPress plugin, your knowledge base lives on your own server. On Fred Cloud, we manage the index for you. In both modes, conversations have PII redaction applied before anything is stored or forwarded, and your content is never used to train anyone else’s models.

What can I upload?

PDF, Word, and Markdown documents, alongside the automatic indexing of your site’s pages, posts, and WooCommerce products. You can also index external URLs you choose, like manufacturer specs or partner pages.

Does this work for voice too?

Yes. Voice and text are the same Fred with the same knowledge base and the same guardrails. A visitor can ask out loud and get the same grounded answer they would get typing.

How long does training take?

It is part of the same roughly 20 minute setup: install, point Fred at your content, pick your guardrail pack, go live. Our training videos walk you through it, or add a paid setup and we handle the configuration with you.

Put your content to work.

Hundreds of pages of expertise are sitting on your site right now, answering no one. Fred changes that in about 20 minutes.
