What about AI costs?

Fred doesn’t include AI provider costs, because we don’t mark them up. You bring your own API keys from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or xAI and pay them directly at their published rates. Many AI chat vendors resell AI with a margin on every conversation. We add nothing.

What are API keys, and is this hard to set up?

An API key is the account credential AI providers give you so software can use their models. You create a free account with a provider, generate a key, and paste it into Fred’s setup wizard. The wizard walks you through it. Most customers finish in a few minutes, no developer required.

How much will the AI actually cost me?

It depends on conversation volume, length, and the model you choose. Typically pennies per conversation at current provider rates. You can estimate it from your provider’s published rates, and see your exact spend on their dashboard at any time. No surprises, because the bill comes from them, not us.

Which AI providers does Fred support?

OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), and xAI (Grok) for conversations, plus ElevenLabs for premium voice. Switch providers anytime. Fred’s rules and training stay the same.

Is this monthly or annual pricing?

Plugin licenses are annual: one payment, a full year of access, all updates included. Fred Cloud plans are monthly, $197/mo, $297/mo for Pro, and Fred Everywhere as a +$100/mo add-on. Launching soon. Join the early-access list to be first in line.
