Fred for bars & breweries.
Answer guests around the clock. Configure guardrails for your business and reserve professional decisions for your team.
Pack the house. Never pour the drink.
A guest wants your hours, what’s on tap, and whether you can fit a party of ten. Fred answers the general questions, captures the booking, and routes your team, while every alcohol order, age check, and service call goes straight to a person.

Server-side guardrails
Example rules to review and configure for your deployment.
Food service runs on two things that can hurt someone if Fred gets them wrong: allergens and alcohol. The panel below illustrates industry rules, custom rules, and intended boundaries. Configured checks target recognized patterns; they can miss context or flag harmless content. Confirm the active rules and test them for your deployment. Example messages are illustrative and must be adapted to your services and escalation workflow.

Hard limits
Intended boundaries for the configured rules. Detection and handoff are not guaranteed.
- Do not confirm a dish is safe for an allergy; route every allergen question to staff
- Do not take an alcohol order or judge whether someone can be served
- Do not give nutrition, calorie, or food-safety (temperature or storage) guidance
- Do not settle a complaint about illness or a foreign object in chat
Your custom rules
Layered on top of the pack, unique to your restaurant. No developer required.
The pack is the starting line, not the ceiling. Every deployment can add its own rules in the admin, block, warn, or just log on any phrase you choose, in either phase, with your own response message. They run right alongside the pack.
- BLOCKmenu claims like healthy or diabetic-friendly
- WARNbefore a reservation or quote is confirmed as final
- LOGwhen a guest asks about a specific dish
These industry rules stack on top of the always-on baseline, FDA allergen-disclosure rules, state dram-shop laws, and local health codes, and macro overlays. See how the guardrail layers work
Know which lead to call back first.
With an enabled integration, Fred can send lead scores and conversation summaries to your system. For example, your team can prioritize the group ready to book. Delivery depends on your configuration and the receiving system.
Bar & brewery questions.
Why won’t Fred take a drink order or check my age?
Alcohol service is governed by dram-shop and drinking-age laws, so age checks and pours have to happen with staff in person. Fred answers general questions and connects a team member. Configure and test the relevant rules; checks can miss phrasing or context.
Can Fred decide if someone gets served?
No. Responsible-service calls are made by trained staff, never in chat. Fred routes those to a person.
Will Fred answer what’s on tap?
Yes, in general terms. Specifics change daily, so Fred shares what it can and routes your team to confirm.
Can it book a table or event?
Fred captures inquiry details and sends them through your configured handoff. Delivery timing depends on the integration and receiving system. Direct booking depends on the tools you already run. Our training videos show you how, or you can add a paid setup.
