What Fred Cloud is
Fred Cloud is the managed way to run Talk to Fred. It delivers the same Fred, the same conversation engine, guardrails, lead capture, and knowledge base, without you hosting or maintaining any infrastructure, and it works on any platform, not just WordPress. Like the plugin, it is BYOAPI, you bring your own AI provider keys.

How it connects
Fred Cloud connects through two lightweight pieces, not a heavy install: a snippet that puts Fred on the page, and an ingester that keeps your content synced into Fred’s knowledge layer. On WordPress that ingester is a small auto sync plugin that updates Fred whenever you publish or edit, and on other platforms it is the connector built for that stack. The RAG, embeddings, and inference all run on Fred Cloud.
Cloud or the plugin?
Both run the same core Fred with feature parity at the base level. The real question is not which platform you are on, since Cloud runs on WordPress too. It is whether you want to own and self host everything, or have it managed with broader channel reach.

Ownership and deployment tiers
Managed does not mean giving up control. You still choose your provider, own your data, and your conversations are never sold. Fred Cloud will come in tiers: SaaS on shared infrastructure for most businesses, Private Cloud on dedicated isolated infrastructure, and Sovereign Deployment on your own infrastructure for government and highly regulated organizations. Private Cloud and Sovereign are handled directly through sales.
