How data flows

Connected AI services process conversation data. Fred can also retain conversation data and send configured fields to connected systems. Review the data paths, redaction settings, and retention rules for the deployment you use.

Redaction and storage settings

Do not ask visitors to submit card numbers, identity documents, or bank details through general chat. Pattern-based redaction is an additional safeguard, with coverage determined by your settings. It does not establish that no sensitive data can be retained.

Categories to review in your redaction settings

• Financial data: card, bank, and routing numbers
• Government IDs: SSNs, driver’s license, and passport numbers
• Health data: medical record and insurance numbers
• Contact info: optional, you can keep it for your CRM

Review the available redaction mode and categories, and confirm coverage separately for transcripts, webhooks, recordings, exports, and the admin viewer. Do not assume that a setting covers every data path.

How reliable is it?

Redaction is pattern based and can miss sensitive information. Coverage depends on the selected mode, categories, channel, and data path. Turning redaction off removes that safeguard. Review storage and retention settings and use an appropriate secure channel for sensitive information.

Consent and compliance

Fred collects contact info through a configurable consent step, stores consent records with timestamps and the exact text shown, and includes export and deletion tools for GDPR and CCPA requests. Fred provides compliance tooling, not legal certification. Always consult qualified counsel for your situation.
